That’s not just my motto, it’s my mantra. Knowing where we’ve been and where we presently exist can help us understand where we would like to go. And, through the actions of our own hands, we can shape that place where we dream of living.
I’ve spent eight years in Massachusetts watching a community manifest its collective dream of equality. I am watching friends manifest new worlds for themselves even as I build this website. And, the reality I’ve been working to shape for my own life the last 2.5 years is unfolding before my eyes.
JoshuaLegg.com is a website dedicated to this mantra. These pages contain the resurrection of my blog, Life in the Promised Land, as well as my virtual portfolio with samples of my work as writer, choreographer, educator, designer, social justice activist, and minister.
In some way, each page on this site helps to illustrate how we can live in those worlds of the possible--whatever they may be for each of us as individuals, or as a society.
I invite you to stop by each week. Regular updates to Promised Land occur on Sunday mornings, as do updates to Dirt Road Journal (coming soon)--a page of meditations and exercises for crafting tomorrow, both in the spirit, and in the concrete. Other pages on the site will be updated on a periodic basis. The top right corner of this page will always indicate which page(s) last received an update.
Let me know what you think. You’re reactions are always welcome.
Cheers, - Joshua
